Nick Shalosky

Nicholas Shalosky is an openly gay native South Carolinian who, as a college student, won a seat on the Charleston County School Board. He currently represents the 20th District, downtown Charleston.

Shalosky is the first openly gay elected official in South Carolina history. This distinction got him the honor of being named one of the nation's "Forty Under 40: Politics" by The Advocate
