) is an Australian diplomat and public servant, who is the current Director-General of the Australian Secret Intelligence Service
(ASIS). From December 2006 to August 2009, he was the Secretary of the Australian Department of Defence
. He is best known and highly respected for his role in "RAMSI" as the Special Coordinator of the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands.
