, was opened when the City Line
reopened to passenger services in 1987, using platforms previously used only for special trains run in connection with football matches. For this reason it has the longest platforms on the line, accommodating up to nine coaches, rather than two coaches as at the other three stations opened at the same time. The station appeared on Ordnance Survey

The station is located near the former Cardiff City F.C.
stadium and is adjacent to the South Wales Main Line
, but trains on this route do not stop. The Cardiff Canton depot is also situated next to the station.
