Super Welterweight

Ishida turned professional in 1999, and made his debut on May 20, as a boxer managed by Kanazawa Boxing Gym. There he received Toshihiro Fujitani's guidance, until the end of 2010.

On May 13, 2001 he fought against Seiji Takechi the interim champion to unify his OPBF title, but he lost by a unanimous decision at the twelfth round and lost his title. This was his first lose in professional career.

On September 24, 2001 he fought against Joya Kawai the Japanese national champion at Super welterweight to get his title, but he lost by a unanimous decision at the twelfth round.

After this defeat, Ishida signed a management contract with Green-Tsuda Boxing Club and a promotional contract with Mexico's Canelo Promotions under the supervision of Edison Reynoso who handled the previous fight, for the forthcoming bouts.
