Al-Faiz earned a bachelors degree in sociology from King Saud University
in Riyadh
in 1978 and a masters degree in education from Utah State University
in 1982. Upon returning to Saudi Arabia she worked as a teacher before entering administration, becoming head principal of the girls section at Prince Alwaleed bin Talal’s Kingdom Schools. She was most recently director of the women’s section at the Institute of Public Administration in Riyadh in 1993.
Al-Faiz is married and has three sons and two daughters.
