Settlers arrived in the area as early as 1817. The location was at the crossroads of a north-south road from Columbus to Portland , and the east-west route that later became the Lincoln Highway and subsequently the Harding Highway....

. Founded in 1964. It is the only high school in the Northmor Local Schools district. Their nickname is the Golden Knights.

The first graduating class was in 1964. Northmor received its name from the fact that the school district is located in the northern section of Morrow County. Hence, North + Mor = Northmor. It was formed by merging the Iberia and Johnsville High Schools.

The graduating class of 1981 was 105 graduates.
