The Northumberland Senior Cup is an annual football competition held between the clubs of the Northumberland Football Association
which was first played in 1884. It is the senior county cup
for the footballing county of Northumberland, which includes Newcastle upon Tyne
, North Tyneside
, and Northumberland
. The first winners were Tyne. The current holders are Newcastle United Reserves
who defeated Blyth Spartans
4-0 at St. James' Park on 11 May 2011.
The competition was not held between 1916 and 1918 due to World War I
and between 1940 and 1946 due to World War II
