The Norwegian Monarchy Plebiscite, 1905 on accepting a republican
or monarchial
form of state in Norway
was held on 12 and 13 November 1905. The voters were to cast a yes or no vote on whether they approved of the decision the Storting had made in authorizing the government to offer the throne of Norway to Prince Carl of Denmark.
The voter turnout
was 75.3% with 259, 563 voted yes and 69, 264 voted no. Following the November plebiscite affirming Norwegians' desire for a monarchy, the parliament offered Prince Carl a mandate to the Norwegian throne on 18 November.
