Nuages Jazz are an Ecuadorian-based jazz group performing mostly in Gypsy and Semitic motifs. They were voted the best jazz group in Ecuador and have released four albums so far.
Nuages was initiated in October 2001 and is made up of musicians from Ecuador, France and Germany. They have been combining jazz with various genres of music: Russian gypsy, Eastern European, French, and Semitic. The Brazilian bossa nova, the Colombian cumbia and Ecuadorian traditional music have become part of their selection as well.
In 2006, Nuages received the prize for the bess Ecuadorian jazz group, and in 2007 embarked on a modest tour in the United States, performing in Texas at TLU
and San Antonio.
