-format every Friday. Politically, its history and editorial line is on the left side of the political spectrum and, until its recent sale, it was founded and owned by the Socialist Left Party of Norway. It is currently owned by new media group, Monitor Medier.

, bought 100 percent of Ny Tid. On January 27 2006 Ny Tid was relaunched as Norway's first news magazine. In January of 2008 the magazine was transferred to a new media group, Monitor Medier, which at the same time also purchased the monthly Le Monde Diplomatique
