The Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI) is part of the United States Agency for International Development
(USAID) Bureau for Democracy, Conflict, and Humanitarian Assistance.
Formed in 1994, it has a role of "promoting reconciliation, jumpstarting local economies, supporting nascent independent media, and fostering peace and democracy through innovative programming."
Its predecessor was the Office of Democratic Initiatives, which was created by USAID in 1984.
