The Okhankanyiweyo emblem is a South Africa
n military award. It was instituted with effect from 27 April 2003, and may be awarded to members of the South African National Defence Force
(or any other armed forces serving with the SANDF) for brave or meritorious conduct, leadership, devotion to duty or praiseworthy service which does not warrant the award of a decoration or medal.
The emblem is in effect a fourth-level award for services which fall short of the requirements for the Nkwe ya Boronse
or iPhrothiya yeBhronzi
. It consists of the South African coat of arms
in bronze, and is to be worn on the ribbon of the relevant campaign medal, e.g. the Tshumelo Ikatelaho
