Oliver Kurtz is a former field hockey

in Barcelona, Spain. He was suspended for two years from international hockey for returning a positive test to cocaine at a pre-Olympic tournament in Atlanta in early 1996. His brother Christian Kurtz also played for the national side.
After his active career Kurtz became a hockey coach who, on May 24, 2004, was appointed assistant coach of the Indian National Men's Team
