of Omantel that provides mobile phone
service to consumers. In addition to standard voice and SMS , packages for BlackBerry
service, 3.5G
-enabled high-speed data services, and push-to-talk
services are also available for both private and business customers. As of January 2009, the customer base of Oman Mobile consists of approximately 1.7 million subscribers.
On March 29, 2009 Azzman news paper reported that the CEO Oman Omantel has resigned from his position as a CEO for personal reasons.
