One D
Encyclopedia
One D is a collaborative effort of existing organizations aiming to enact change in the region by creating a centralized community working for the progression of Metro Detroit. OneD.org was launched by One D, Brogan & Partners and Troy-based web development team, Media Genesis, Inc.

One D is a project launched in November 2006 and led by Edsel B. Ford II and several partners, including Detroit Renaissance the Detroit Regional Chamber New Detroit the Detroit Metropolitan Convention & Visitors Bureau United Way for Southeastern Michigan Metropolitan Affairs Coalition Southeast Michigan Council of Governments and the Cultural Alliance of Southeastern Michigan .

Over 500 nonprofits and organizations are profiled on the site with contact information.
In addition, a share board and forum provide a place for community discussion. Users are also encouraged to post related events in the calendar. Future live guest speakers will also be featured on the site, including:

One D Objectives

  • One D strives to connect, advocate and influence to help the region

  • One D helps local foundations, businesses and other organizations collaborate and focus on regional improvement

  • One D encourages the private sector to speak uniformly to impact public policy and funding from state and national capitols

  • One D measures and reports the progressive work being done in the region

One D Scorecard

OneDScorecard.org is a site featuring a regional comparison of the progress of Southeast Michigan to other metropolitan areas.
The scorecard’s main indicators include:
  • Economic prosperity
  • Educational preparedness
  • Quality of life
  • Race relations
  • Regional transit
