Oscar Forman

Oscar Forman is a basketball player who currently plays for the Wollongong Hawks
in the Australian National Basketball League
. Forman played for the Adelaide 36ers
from 2001 until 2006, winning a championship in 2002, before moving to the Breakers at the end of the 2005-2006 season. While starting his career playing primarily the power forward/centre position, he has since been used more often in a small forward role as a specialist three-point shooter.
Oscar Forman played as a junior for the Sturt Sabres and represented the Sabres in the Central Australian Basketball League
. He has won a championship with them in the 2004 season and won a Woollacott Medal in 2005. Other honours include being chosen as a member of the Australian team that competed at the 2003 World University Summer Games in Korea, and was also chosen for the Commonwealth Games
in 2006, but did not get selected for the final team. He also led the NBL
in three-point shooting % in the 2004-05 season, with an average of 47%.
In the 2007 and 2008 off-seasons, he played in New Zealand's National Basketball League for the Harbour Heat. In 2007, he signed a new three-year contract with the Breakers that will keep him based in Auckland until 2009/10.
In April 2010, Forman signed a contract with the Wollongong Hawks.
Forman was awarded the 2010-11 NBL Most Improved Player
award, capping off a successful move to Wollongong.
