Biography

Johan Otto Øgrim was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, but grew up in Norway. He graduated from the Trondheim Cathedral School in 1934. He graduated with a cand.real. degree with a physics major in 1946. He became a professor of experimental physics at the University of Oslo

 in 1947. For more than 35 years, Øgrim worked as a lecturer at the Institute of Physics and a prolific textbook author at the Oslo University.
