. It is a part of the municipality of Goedereede
on the island Goeree-Overflakkee
. The statistical area "Ouddorp", which also includes the peripheral parts of the village and the surrounding countryside (including the hamlet of Visschershoek
), has a population of around 6040. Religious life has also traditionally been very important to Ouddorp's inhabitants. The largest church is the Dorpskerk
. Ouddorp was a separate municipality until 1966, when it became part of Goedereede.
