"Overground" is a song written and recorded by British rock band Siouxsie and the Banshees. It was co-produced with Mike Hedges
and included on The Thorn EP
. The song originally appeared on the Banshees' debut album The Scream
in 1978. The Thorn version of Overground was later included in the 2004 box set Downside Up
.
In its original version, "Overground" was presented as a post-punk
song which matches the musical style of The Scream. Siouxsie and the Banshees re-recorded the track with elaborate, lush orchestral instrumentation with a flamenco acoustic guitar for its inclusion on the four-track The Thorn EP
.
