Overslade has a small row of shops, currently consisting of a hair salon, Chinese takeaway, Fish and Chip shop and a local convenience store (which until Autumn 2008 had an enclosed post office, which closed as part of national closures). The local pub is known as the Three Cranes and has now been closed. Preparations are underway for a housing estate.
