Oving Villages Cup

The Oving Villages Cup, or locally The Oving Cup, run by the Oving and District Villages Cup Committee and is affiliated to the Berkshire and Buckinghamshire Football Association
in England, is one of the oldest football
trophies. It was first played in the season 1889-1890 and was won in that first season by Long Crendon
beating the hosts Oving
2-0.
The Oving Cup is played by the representative teams on a knock-out basis; the two finalists then normally meet on Easter Monday
at Oving Recreational Ground.
The Cup is open to villages within 12 miles of Oving, Buckinghamshire
and had strict rules on eligibility of players, such as living in the village for a minimum of twelve months and/or playing for the same team for three consecutive seasons.
