. The population was 936 at the 2000 census, but was 982 as of 2008. Owen is located directly east of the village of Withee
, which is about half the size of Owen.

Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.43% of the population.
There were 412 households out of which 26.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.3% were married couples
living together, 10.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.9% were non-families. 32.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 21.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.27 and the average family size was 2.84.
In the city the population was spread out with 23.3% under the age of 18, 9.1% from 18 to 24, 23.9% from 25 to 44, 20.6% from 45 to 64, and 23.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females there were 90.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.5 males.
