(A PFG), the first division of Bulgarian football. The club's home ground is the Ludogorets Arena in Razgrad
, a stadium, which was unveiled with a 2-1 win against Levski Sofia
in a championship match.
The club is the historical successor of the original and traditional club records of the former Ludogorets Razgrad, which was founded in 1945 and dissolved in 2006.
. In 1961–62 season the club were promoted for the first time to B PFG, the second tier of the Bulgarian football league system. Ludogorets has played mostly in the second and third division during its 65 year existence.
In the late 1990s, the club was known as Antibiotik Razgrad.
In the 2009-10 season the club finished 2nd in the V AFG
and won a promotion to the professional football. In October 2010 the businessman Kiril Domuschiev acquired the club, with the clear intention to bring Ludogorets to A PFG. The new owner decided to bring players with a lot of experience in the Bulgarian football, his first signing being ex-Slavia Sofia

were just a few players who soon followed. On 28 May 2011, the club completed the feat in Domuschiev's first season presiding over the club achieving promotion to A PFG, for the first time in the club's history.
