Encyclopedia
PSB Academy, is one of the largest, leading private education institutions in Singapore. Formerly part of the Productivity and Standards Board of Singapore (PSB), the institution has been instrumental in stimulating productivity improvement and innovation within the country’s workforce. Today, the Academy caters a suite of internationally recognised tertiary-level programmes to a population of almost 10,000 local and international students in Singapore.

PSB Academy has more than 40 years of experience in training and education. The institution places emphasis on academic rigour and excellence and aims to equip its learners with knowledge and skills that are relevant to Industry. From professional certificates and diplomas to graduate and post-graduate courses, it currently has 2 campuses in Singapore, campus@Delta and campus@Henderson, and academic collaborations in China & Vietnam.

PSB Academy has been awarded the 4-year EduTrust certification by the Singapore Government’s Council for Private Education (CPE) and has clinched the first Singapore Experience Award for Best Education Experience.

Heritage and Milestones

1964 - 1972

Established in 1964 as a Productivity Unit in the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB)

1972 - 1988

Became the National Productivity Board (NPB), with a focus on training of skilled workers and spearheading Productivity Movement

1988 - 1996

Formalised to be the Institute for Productivity Training (IPT)

1996 - 2001

Progressed to become PSB-IPT, with the merger of IPT and Singapore Institute of Standards and Industrial Research (SISIR)

2001 - 2006

Corporatised and renamed PSB Academy, under PSB Corporation, providing a comprehensive range of training programmes

2006 - 2007

Became a member of TÜV SÜD, when PSB Corporation integrated with the German company. Moved into new PSB Academy Campus@ Delta

2007–Present

Campus @ Delta

The Toa Payoh campus was relocated to a brand-new campus at the end of 2006.

Campus @ Henderson

The other, Henderson campus, is located at Jalan Bukit Merah. It houses a S$1 million dollar Life Science laboratory. It is approximately a 10-minute drive from Orchard Road.
