The school site includes a Clark County College of Southern Nevada CCSN High Tech Center and an adjacent Parks and Recreation facility, providing the opportunity to develop unique technology and curricular programs.

The Varsity Football Team had not lost a regular season game since October 2006 until losing to the Legacy Longhorns during the 2009 season. They lost the 2008 Nevada State Championship Game on December 6, 2008 to McQueen High School with a final score of 13-12.

Forensics
Founded in 2001 by Michelle Uttke, the Palo Verde Forensics team has grown from a team of under 10 people to a booming team of over 100 competitors. One of the largest and most successful schools in the Golden Desert Forensics League, the debate team consistently places in the top 3 at local debate tournaments. The current coach is Sheila Berselli. Many members have achieved notable district wide attention. In 2008, Palo Verde Forensics placed 2nd in the Nevada State Debate Championship. In 2009, Palo Verde Forensics repeated as the runner-up at the Nevada State Debate Championship. In 2010, Palo Verde Forensics were named the Champions of the 2010 Nevada State Debate Championship.Notable alumni
