The town was laid out in 1809 on a tract of land that David Parish

Sports

The Parishville-Hopkinton boys' soccer team won back-to-back Section X titles in 2007 and 2008, 2010, and again in 2011.

In 2001, the Parishville-Hopkinton boys' varsity baseball team won the New York State Class D Championship to become the first team in school history to do so.
