Pascal Adant is a Belgian film and television director, screenwriter, producer, animator and composer.
Before moving into filmmaking, he was a photojournalist for the Vox magasine and was sent in Africa
to cover the Somali civil war
. Self-taught, he learned cinematography in books and used a 16mm Bolex
camera to practise.
Adant's good sense of entertainment and technical skills allow him to treat any subjects in many genre with humor and irony. He entirely animates his cartoons and films himself when shooting live action. His characters are often torn between fear and desire, love and hate, honesty and betrayal, conflicting and self-destructive emotions that land them to failure sometimes. Most of his movies were selected and prize-winning in major festivals.
