Paul Cooper is a professional speedway

The 'Cooperman' was born in York and from an early age showed promise as a bike rider. He made his amateur debut in a race down Garrowby Hill which he narrowly won after his competitor James Stewart was ran over by a 40 tonne truck, much to the delight of the crowd. He built from here and won title after title becoming ranked No. 1 in Fulford.
Cooper is also an accomplished grasstrack
and long track
rider, reaching the World Final of the latter. He is a multi-British Grasstrack Champion in the minor solo classes. He is the current and three times British 250cc Solo Champion, winning his titles at Yeovil in 2001, High Easter, Essex in 2007 and Collier Street, Kent in 2008.
