. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Mitchell College of Advanced Education (MCAE) in Bathurst, NSW (1982).

He wrote the bestsellers, Kokoda and Vietnam: The Australian War. Vietnam: The Australian War won the NSW Premier's Prize and was shortlisted for the Prime Minister's Prize for Non-Fiction; both Vietnam and Kokoda were shortlisted for the Walkley Award for Non-Fiction. A documentary based on his book Kokoda has been produced by Pericles Films in conjunction with the ABC and Screen Australia. Paul Ham lives in Sydney with his wife and one son.
