Paul Marland is a British

on his third attempt by gaining the marginal seat of West Gloucestershire from Labour in 1979. He served until 1997 when the seat was abolished by boundary changes. He stood in the new Forest of Dean
constituency, but lost to Labour
's Diana Organ.
He was President of the National Conservative Convention in 2005, and therefore hosted the 2005 Conservative Party Conference.
