There is a Knanaya Catholic Church in the town named St.Anne's Church.There are some establishments like Panchayat Office, Village Office, Police Station, Hospitals, Schools at this place. Oottu Festival at Shiva Temple

The Oottufestival at the temple of Lord Shiva is the unique celebration of the village. It is celebrated from 1 to 12 Kumbam (7th month as per the Malayalam Calendar) every year. People, irrespective of caste and religion, come to celebrate this festival. People from Kodagu district (Karnataka) also come for the festival with offerings.
The Festival start at February 12 (Makaram 30 ) and end at February 24(Kumbham 12).The Festival is considered as 'Sangamma' of Kodagu-Malayalee peoples.Before starting festival Kodagu people come with Bullock (Call as 'ERUTHU')with Rice and that rice used for Prasada oota for festival time.There are so many history behind this festival.
