The village used to house quarry workers and their families, but some of the original houses have now been demolished. The village has a small post office, a club, a playground, and even a primary school, which are all used frequently by residents of the village.

Peak Dale Band

Peak Dale also has a public band that meets every week; it performs in churches and clubs in the local area. Most of the band is made up of the youth around the area, aged 10 to 15. It plays on the 11th November every year for the village.
