Pennsylvania Route 462 is a 32 miles (51.5 km) long east–west running local route in central Pennsylvania
. The western terminus is west of York
. The eastern terminus is east of Lancaster
. At both ends, PA 462 terminates at U.S. Route 30, and all of the route was signed as U.S. Route 30 before a freeway was built to bypass it. Having been once Route 30, which supplanted the Lincoln Highway

PA 74 separates from PA 462 at Queen Street, but PA 462 continues as two separate one-way streets through downtown. On the eastern boundary of the city, at Harrison Street, PA 462 merges back into a single four-lane divided highway, and continues as East Market Street. In East York, PA 462 intersects I-83
at exit 19. About a mile east of East York, PA 462 meets with PA 24
