The route is known as Street Road for its entire length. For a while 926 serves as the county line between Delaware
and Chester Counties and thus technically could be considered a part of Delaware County.

In recent years, the once country road has experienced a large amount of development along its eastern half as many new upscale homes have sprung up along its course. While the western end has largely remained rural, development is slowly starting to pop up along this portion of the road as well.
