Pop rock

Pop rock is a music genre which mixes a catchy pop style and light lyrics in its guitar-based rock songs. There are varying definitions of the term, ranging from a slower and mellower form of rock music to a subgenre of pop music...

 group from Barajas (Madrid) composed of Rubén Pozo Prats and José Miguel Torres Conejo artistically known as Rubén and Leiva. They have recorded six albums: Pereza, Algo Para Cantar, Animales, Amigos De Los Animales (a compilation album released in 2006 which includes collaborations with artists like Amaral, Bunbury, and Ariel Rot), Aproximaciones, published in the summer of 2007, and Aviones, published in August 2009. They have also released two DVDs: "Algo Para Encantar", which includes video clips of their previous album, Algo Para Cantar, and some live tracks, and "Barcelona", a DVD with a live concert in the city with a CD entitled Rarezas, which unveils new songs from the beginning of the band.

Early years

In 1999 they teamed up with the good intention of making versions of Leño. Ruben (guitar and vocals) came to spend the fleeting outsole Goodnight Rose, while Leiva (bass and vocals) had spread the time between his group Malahierba and parks in the neighborhood of Alameda de Osuna. The trio was completed with drummer then Tuli. In his first crawls for the small clubs of Madrid went so far as to officiate as a band to accompany the music critic and former lead singer of the Desperados Fernando Martin, brother of the beloved guitarist Guille Martín (Loquillo, Calamaro). On account of tanning leather in the circuit of kittens were born the first own songs, which showed a clear debt to the glamorous seventies, led by Marc Bolan and the Stones, not to mention references and Tequila Burning native and assimilated all of them clearly a pop vein, never despised a good riff.

A talent scout saw them live RCA and immediately placed their trust in them, watching a huge commercial bonanza and an attractive and solid image, but still has things to polish. The tab for the multinational band and released his first album: "Sloth" (2001). The work is evidence of his youth and inexperience, limited yes, but firm enough to give a hundred concerts and believe themselves a little more. In his wanderings around the peninsula are making opening for Porretas tables, enemies, or Total Loss. They also provide valuable grains of sand in various compilations: the ugly ducklings of solidarity make the children's classic television show "La Bruja failure" in Calaveras and Diablitos the unpublished "On the go", and the G Men homage to attack with "I'll have fun, "a song that would end giving tribute album title.
