A Personalized URL will usually take this form: http://[UserName].CompanyName.com. To create a PURL, first there is assigned a unique user identifier to be associated with the user information

Usage

The Personalized URL is commonly used by marketers to both attract customers through the personalized attention and also for purpose of tracking a prospect's response. PURL's are also commonly used by blogging and hosting domains such as blogger.com to quickly and easily allow their users to customize their web addresses without having to go through the process of creating a separate domain.
