The Pet de Kat Krewe or PdKK, was founded in 1992 by a group of South Florida music fanatics who shared an audience at live music clubs. When the group started spotting each other at events around the country, a krewe
was formed. When discovered by thousands during the 1993 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival http://www.nojazzfest.com, the krewe was dubbed as "Worldwide Festivalists".
The PdKK earned respect from musicians by inspiring songs by The Dirty Dozen Brass Band

. The krewe gained international notoriety in 2002, when they were invited to appear on the Folk Heritage Stage as an official part of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
