Professor Peter O. Adeniyi, Officer of the Order of Niger
(OON) is a distinguished Nigerian academician and administrator. In 1984 he was the winner of the John I. Davidson Award (Third Prize) donated by the International Geographic Information Foundation.
He is a winner of the 2005 Nigeria National Honours Award. Adeniyi is a former Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Akure
