Baden-Powell was, like his father, educated at Charterhouse School
, Godalming
, Surrey
, England and at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire
. He served in the British South Africa Police
between 1934 and 1937. He was in the Native Affairs Department, Southern Rhodesia
between 1937 and 1945. He was elected a member of the Mercers' Company in 1948. He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baron Baden-Powell, of Gilwell
, Essex on 8 January 1941. He was invested as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts
(R.S.A.). He died in 1962 aged 49.
Peter was deeply involved in Scouting. He was, until his death, Guildmaster of The B-P Guild of Old Scouts.
During a visit in Austria
in 1957 he was awarded with one of the highest honour of Austrian Scouting
