Peter Dauvergne

Peter Dauvergne is a Professor of Political Science with a focus on the politics of global environmental change. He is the Canada Research Chair in Global Environmental Politics and holds a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada grant (2010-2013) on the “Global Environmental Politics of Eco-Consumerism.” His current projects include sustainable consumption and corporate social responsibility. in 2002, Dauvergne has served as the Director of the Environment Program at the Liu Institute for Global Issues (2003-2005), the Associate Dean for Strategic Intiatives and Development in the Faculty of Arts (2003-2008), and is currently the Director of the Liu Institute for Global Issues

An award-winning author, Dauvergne has written over 50 articles and 9 books, including the Gerald L. Young best book authored in 2008 in the field of human ecology, the Shadows of Consumption (MIT Press, 2008). As well, although no longer active in international tournaments, he is a Canadian chess master with an international FIDE rating of 2232.
