Peter F. Kilmartin is an American attorney and currently Attorney General of Rhode Island. Kilmartin is a retired police captain and formerly a member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives

Peter Kilmartin was first elected as a state representative on 6 November 1990 into the 80th district. Upon downsizing of the House of Representatives from 100 to 75 members in the 2002 election, Kilmartin ran unopposed and was elected to serve in the 61st district.
