Geology of Peveril Point

The rocks that make up Peveril Point are shale and Portland and Purbeck limestone in a syncline structure. The reason why this is still a headland is because it is made of limestone which doesn't wear away, but bays are formed because they are made from clay and are easily worn away.This landform was created by years of erosion.
