Peyton Hayslip is an American actress.
Realizing as a child that she wanted to be an actress, she ultimately received her training as an actress at the Juilliard School
in NYC

). While she has enjoyed performances regionally, Peyton has been especially active in the Austin

A 7th generation Texan, one of Ms. Hayslip's most acclaimed performances is her original one-woman show, KATE JAMES: PORTRAIT OF A TEXAS PIONEER. Based on the diaries of her great-great-great grandmother, Kate James, Peyton humorously and informatively reveals life on the frontier as a settler
in Texas in 1855. This touring production allows Texas history to come alive as audiences experience a time when dinner was grown or trapped, clothes made from scratch, a 12 mile trip took all day, and the nation fought a horrendous civil war
. The production has proven perfect for Texas History studies, for Museum

as it addresses the role of women during a pivotal time in our country's history, 1851-1931.
In 2007, Hayslip was honored to be nominated as one of the 10 International Outstanding Women in Film and Music (only 3 women were selected from the USA!) by the myspace Association of Outstanding Women in Film and Music.
Currently, Hayslip resides in Dallas, Texas with her daughters, Kitty Stuart and Tiger Darrow.
