Phoebus High School

Phoebus High School is a public high school located in Hampton, Virginia
. Named after the nearby neighborhood and former township of Phoebus, it is the newest of the four high schools in the city. Considered unique for its excellent technology, and Video Media and Design. Originally designed as an "Open-Concept" school, permanent interior walls were minimized in favor of partitions that could be adjusted depending on building needs. Recent upgrades include interior walls, and a renovation of the gymnasium and theater as well as the main entrances to the school. Phoebus continues to add nationally board certified teachers and several students have earned industry certifications via the CTE department.

The Phoebus track team is an extreme contender with Crystal Peterson ranked 3rd in the state in the 55m dash, and former junior olympian hurdler Jasmine Vaughan. The Phantom boys 4x200 meter relay team has one of the top competing times in Virginia. Their distance runner Victoria Worrall is quickly moving up the ranks.
In 2010, the Phoebus High School girls' field hockey team sought the help of MTV's Made
in order to improve their skills and record, and gain the respect of their classmates.

History
Phoebus high school was founded in the 1975 as the newest school of all the Hampton public high schools. Phoebus high school was named after the formal town of Phoebus. Today Phoebus is home of Hampton City Schools Behind the wheel program. It is also called the school with no windows or no walls because of its unique design also its the only high school with top and bottom lockers unlike the other schools with only one row of lockers.Feeder pattern

Phoebus' athletic teams are known as the Phantoms.
