Pietro Garinei was an Italian playwright, actor, and songwriter.

. As a journalist of the Corriere dello Sport, he met Sandro Giovannini, with whom he formed a stable duo started with the foundation of the humour newspaper Cantachiaro in 1944, followed by others during World War II.
Garinei after the conflict collaborated with Italian Radio. In 1949 he debuted as playwright, and in 1952 he introduced the musical comedy in Italy with Attanasio cavallo vanesio, featuring Renato Rascel
. Always in collaboratio with Giovannini, he wrote numerous musicals such as Un paio d'ali, Ciao Rudy, Rugantino
