Planloven
Encyclopedia
Law on planning popularly known as Planloven, is a Danish law which establishes the basic rules that public authorities shall follow when planning, including:
  • to reconcile the public interest
  • to assist in the protection of the country's nature and environment through prevention of pollution
  • to create and maintain valuable buildings
  • to involve the public in planning

Plan Types

Planloven contains 4 different plan types:
  1. National directives
  2. Regional plans
    Regional planning
Regional planning deals with the efficient placement of land use activities, infrastructure, and settlement growth across a larger area of land than an individual city or town. The related field of urban planning deals with the specific issues of city planning...

  3. Municipality plans
  4. Local plans

The various plans are ranked so that a plan of a given type may not conflict with plans on a higher level. It is only the local plan that is binding for the individual landowners.
