The village also happens to have a stellar annual 4 July celebration which attracts many throughout the county. The fireworks display can be seen by many surrounding towns.

In the village the population was spread out with 25.8% under the age of 18, 5.3% from 18 to 24, 24.4% from 25 to 44, 21.4% from 45 to 64, and 23.2% who were 65 years of age or older.
