Pleasantville is a neighbourhood in the east end of the city of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador
, Canada. It extends from the north side of Quidi Vidi Lake northward to Newfoundland Drive, and is largely made up of apartment blocks. Pleasantville was the former site of the United States military's Fort Pepperrell
and later Pepperrell Air Force Base, which closed in 1960, and many of the buildings originally constructed by the US in 1941 have today been converted to affordable housing and apartments.
Pleasantville is home to a reserve base of the Canadian Forces
and the Country Ribbon meat processing plant, as well as the former site of the Janeway Children's Hospital.
