Pocholo THE VOICEMASTER Gonzales is a veteran in the art of Filipino voice acting. His voice was already used in a thousand characters in anime, hundreds of local commercials in radio and television, and various children's programs, films, foreign telenovelas, drama, and other TV shows.

He also keeps himself busy as a passionate advocate of the youth and is one of the founders of an organization, Tinig Kabataan or Voice of the Youth Network

Professional career

Motivated to live his dream, Gonzales started his career at the age of 16 after winning a voice acting competition in DZMM

's drama and singing contest Radyo, Radyo where he later became its anchor (together with Joey Galvez and May Valle), scriptwriter, and co-director. Eventually, he worked for ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation as a dubber and translator for various cartoons and telenovelas.

At the same time, he was a first year student taking up BA Speech Communication in UP Diliman.

In May 1998, Gonzales was chosen by the legendary Rene O. Villanueva, creative director of Philippine Children's Television Foundation Inc., to be a voice-over talent for various voice-over characters, puppets and mascots for the programs Batang Batibot, Batibot

In 2001, while harnessing his talent to become one of the best and most experienced in the field of voice acting, he managed to take his M.A. for Broadcast Communication in the University of the Philippines Diliman. In that year, he entered Manila Broadcasting Company as a radio drama talent for drama programs such as Text Love, Kandila, Mr. Romantiko, May Pangako ang Bukas and Radio Balintataw, and Sey Mo, Sey Ko.

Gonzales even became part of the dubbing team of the highly-rated Taiwanese drama Meteor Garden

In 2004, at DZME 1530kHz, he became the host of Voice of the Youth, the only youth oriented radio program which aired for more than four years which later on, would turn into a big organization. Furthermore, he founded and became the managing director of the Univoicesal Productions, the only voice talent institute and voice talent agency.

In the same year, he became the judge in the Cartoon Network Awards of Excellence.

Gonzales believes that voice acting is an art that needs to be heard, to be recognized and to be further developed. He also believes that the dubbing industry has to be professionalized. This led to the establishment of his own voice talent agency in 2005. Furthermore, he was invited as a guest speaker on seminars about voice, dubbing, career talks, and the like.

He was also nominated in the Ten Outstanding Young Men (TOYM), a widely recognized award giving body for young men and women. He also became a board member of Animation Council of the Philippines, Inc. during this year.

He was one of the exhibitors at the Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART) in 2006. He also imparted insights on different events such as Art of Voice Acting, Putting Your Business Online, et cetera.

He was hired by the Creative Programs Inc. as a voice dubbing director for Cinema One and HERO TV in 2006. He wrote and translated anime shows like "8 Man After", "Demon Lord Dante", "Offside", "Bokura Ga Ita", "Shura No Toki", "Ursula's Kiss", "Negima 2", "Negima Movies", "Black Jack", "The Grudge", "My Brother's Wife", "Nishi no Yoki Majo" and "Black Jack".

He has done voice overs for various TV and radio stations, both major and minor, as a reporter, broadcaster, host, voice over, radio drama talent and voice director. His programs included Lakas Kabataan, Voice of the Youth Radio, Awit-Tawanan, Radyo Radyo, Sey Mo, Sey Ko (with Tiya Dely Magpayo and Eloisa Cruz Canlas), Text Love, Mr. Romantico, Ito ang Palad Ko, Hagupit ng Pagkakataon, Batibot, Batang Batibot, Koko Kwik Kwak, Tatak Pinoy and Sineskwela. He was mentored by no other than Bernard Factor Canaberal and Salvador M. Royales during his stay in Manila Broadcasting Company DZRH.

He worked as a freelance voice talent for local audio production houses such as Hit Productions, Sound Design Productions, Liquid Post, Digitrax, Ignite Media, Ad Farm, Noisy Neighbors, Audio Media, RoadRunner Audio Post, Cutting Edge Productions, SoundWeavers and 101 Beat.

Apart from being busy with voice acting, he also became a member of the Philippine Marketing Association, Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPAP) and a board member of the Philippine Association for Volunteer Effort in 2007. During this year, he was given the title “Father of the Philippine Podcast” for his involvement in ELEKSYON 2007 PODCAST where he podcasted all the senatoriables. Among his podcast works are Digital Filipino Podcast, Titik Pilipino Podcast, Hackenslash the Podcast, E Telecare Podcast, Ang Gara ng Buhay Podcast, Tek Tok Podcast and many others.
Furthermore, in this year, he organized the only Christmas Party of Voice Talents entitled Pasko ng mga Pinoy Super Hero.

He produced the Voice of the Youth TV in 2008. He also joined the Advertising Board of the Philippines and became a member of the research committee.

In the same year, he dubbed for the characters of Toti and Hal An for his first digital full length animation movie entitled movie Dayo: Sa Mundo ng Elementalia, an entry in the Metro Manila Film Festival

By organizing the SYVAP Award, an award-giving body by the Society of Young Voice Artists of the Philippines, Gonzales aspired to recognize people who helped develop the dubbing industry of the Philippines.

In 2009, he became the speaker in the Philippine Youth Congress in Information Technology held at UP Diliman. Gonzales was acknowledged by the President of the Republic of the Philippines, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, Joey Concepcion of the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship and GO NEGOSYO, Hon. Enrique Garcia Jr., governor of the province of Bataan, Congressman Abet Garcia of Bataan and Mayor Joey Garcia of Balanga City when he was awarded as one of the Most Inspiring Bataenio MicroEntrepreneur. He was recognized for establishing CreatiVoices Productions as a venue that provides inspiration and opportunities to other voice talents and cultivates the voice acting industry in the country. This business was the result of his commitment to his profession and his voice-acting craft.

Moreover, he co-organized the Metro Comic Con. He was also the youngest board member of Advertising Suppliers Association of the Philippines in 2009.

In January 2010, Gonzales, together with the bloggers from Blogwatch.ph, interviewed the Presidentiables in the 2010 Philippine National Election. He partnered with the Inquirer.net to podcast and videocast the interviews with the Presidentiables, Vice Presidentiables and Senatoriables in March 2010.

The premiere of his independent animation film was shown at Cinema 1 of SM Megamall on December 1, 2010. He directed and supervised the voice acting of this animation and did the voice-overs for Lolo Apang and Nuno 1.

Youth Advocacy

Gonzales helped in founding Voice of the Youth (VOTY). This radio program aired for two hours each Sunday for more than four years. Voice of the Youth opened opportunities for young people to voice their ideas and opinions on an array of issues affecting their lives. VOTY turned into an organization after some time and even expanded into a collaboration of youth organizations in nearly all provinces of the country, guided by its vision of providing networks, tools, resources, and recognition of the youth as harbingers of upbeat changes in their communities.

In 1998, Gonzales became an active youth coordinator and the youngest participant in the 2nd National Youth Parliament (NYP), an organization composed of young representatives from different groupings nationwide that aspires in the expansion of a legislative-executive agenda for youth development.

Gonzales became a delegate for the Medium-Term Youth Development Plan the following year and became a member of the National Youth Commission

Gonzales spread his advocacies for the youth through talks and seminars. In fact, he became a speaker in the ASEAN Student Leaders’ Summit 2002: Strengthening Youth Leadership for Community Development. Likewise, he was one of the speakers and organizers of the 3rd International Youth Conference held in the Philippine Normal University sponsored by the UNESCO ASPnet, UNAP, and PNU.

Gonzales produced the only TV program that featured voice talents on Voice of the Week in 2008, a segment of VOICE OF THE YOUTH TV aired over the Global News Network of Destiny Cable channel 1.
