Poliçan is a city in Berat County
situated in south-central Albania
. It has a population of about 12,000 inhabitants and is surrounded by several hills from whom it is said the nominative derives from.It is composed by few neighbourhoods like Plirez, Pronovik ,Kalluc, Poligon, Lavdar and City center. Historically city of Polican has been part of Berat County except from 1978-1991 when city was made part of Skrapar due to political pressure of regime at that time. It is a great city even though it was industrial made.
